"decent place.. I'm an 11B and used to a strict post.. BCT and AIT here are a joke... kids and DS's uniforms all jacked up Sr NCO's and Officers walking in grass just way to lax for a grunt!"

"We used to eat here often when we still lived in Lawton. Their trout is excellent, as are their snow crab legs. They used to give the melted butter over a burner with lemon to squeeze into it for the crab legs or any other dish that you want the butter for. I really miss the place, and I hope they re-open - probably they've gone on vacation. The restaurant has a nice second floor for large crowds. I definitely recommend!"

"This small museum focuses on historic aspects of this large Army post that is loaded with history! Across the quadrangle from the museum is the Sherman house, named for the visiting Civil War general who scuffled with 3 Indian Chiefs on the front porch. Nearby is the guardhouse where Geronimo stayed after a few late nights in nearby Lawton. Geronimo is buried on the fort grounds, as is the famous Comanche chief Quanah Parker [next to his mother Cynthia Ann, who was kidnapped by Comanches at age 9 -- fascinating story]. There is also a large museum of artillery pieces that you'll likely easily see as you enter the post. Military buffs could easily spend a full day here -- do your research and find a good map to bring -- the fort is big, and the roads wind around!"

"We came to Fort Sill for our son's BCT graduation. We loved visiting the base for four days driving around and checking out its many clean facilities. We were impressed how modern all the buildings are and the many recreation facilities provided to the soldiers. The museums were awesome. It has the only USO in Oklahoma that all of the soldiers and their families should take advantage."

"Loved basic training at Fort Sill. The weather is great and the training during basic training is even better. When going to the stores on family day and graduation day, everyone was really friendly and gave great advice for the future."

"AIT: 68; Got to see the buffalo herd at Mt Scott. Lots of pictures there and Signal Mountain. One of my tent mates, Jack High, was from Oklahoma City, so we got a weekend pass to go let his family spoil us for the weekend. His grandmother was a great cook. She was from Poteau, and I had an Aunt in Quinton; both in far eastern Oklahoma."
